FAK Distribution is a solutions-based third-party logistics company.  Our philosophy is to provide the best service experience possible to our customers.  Our only objective is not simply to sell freight services.  Our goal is to offer the customer answers to logistics problems that will make the client successful at his company.  Moreover, we want to make the experience of using our services easy for the customer.  You’ll find that there are not a lot of forms to complete or excessive questions to answer when dealing with FAK Distribution.  Finally, we want our customer’s experience to be completely seamless meaning that FAK is a one-stop shop to the customer.  There is no need for him to seek out multiple providers, as we put all logistics services under one roof.

Over the Road

With FAK Distribution, over the road shipping could not be simpler.

We are an asset light provider and offer a wide variety of freight services for your standard or specific truckload shipping needs. This includes Dry Van, LTL, Flatbed, Over Dimensional, Temperature Controlled, Final Mile, Intermodal, North American Cross Border and Cartage services. Improved efficiency and service capabilities through a seamless supply chain network.

Dry Van – We use a mixture of our own assets as well as partnerships to deliver your goods throughout North America, Canada and Mexico.  Our assets move with satellite tracked equipment or available MacroPoint tracking so you may have a peace of mind that your freight will arrive on time as promised.  We can analyze your supply chain needs and provide you a cost effective solution that works for you.

LTL – In the ever changing LTL market, let us guide you with precision to the variable pricing you may need and the service you require.  We provide true affordability through a network of long term relationships with Nationwide and Regional carriers.

Flatbed – Whether you have basic flatbed shipments or highly specialized over dimensional movements our staff will handle your freight from door to door.

Temperature Controlled – From freeze protect to subzero, we can handle your cool and cold products to your specifications.  Our temperature controlled partners handle freight from coast to coast with precision and accuracy so you don’t over pay during seasonal fluctuations.

Final Mile – Sometimes it’s more than just simple transportation.  From servers that require blanket wraps and de-trashing to medical equipment that needs to be crated, uncrated and delivered to a particular site or tradeshow we can serve as your specialized provider.  Our dedicated professionals will work with you from start to finish, ensuring a consistent, quality service.

Intermodal – We can help you take advantage of truckload cost savings by leveraging our Intermodal pricing throughout our network.  We work with large providers to enhance and balance all opportunities with your freight.  Ask us how we can help you.

North American Cross border – Being located in Laredo, TX gives us premium access to border crossing services to and from Mexico.   Seamless service is incorporated into both imports and exports.  Coupling this with our warehousing and distribution capabilities in Laredo Texas enables and assists our customers in cost based saving opportunities.

Cartage – From across town to interstate deliveries we have you represented.  Interchange  agreements are maintained with all steamship lines and our partners are committed to On Time performance to make your shipment arrive when and where you need it.

Fred S. Hopson, Jr. Managing Director

Fred has over 25 years in logistics, having worked with some of the largest multinational firms worldwide. He is solutions oriented, looking for the most cost effective alternative for his clients. His approach to logistics is to offer a service that meets the client's needs, one that is cost efficient, and one that is fully seamless, where the client gets a value proposition from door-to-door. Fred is bilingual and started his career in Mexico cross-border operations and later extended his experience across the globe.

Angela Hopson Vice President, Operations

Angela, a Houston native, began her career in logistics working for Maersk Lines in their Gulf Office operation. Later, she was the Manager of Logistics for Americana Foods in Dallas, and then the Director of Distribution for Duty Free Americas. Her approach to logistics is that the client should always be right, that the client should not have to meet alot of requirements in order to do business with a third party logistics company, and that we are only doing jobs as third party providers when we offer solutions and think "outside of the box."

Larry J. Chilcoat Global Operations & Sales

As Vice President of Global Operations & Sales, Mr. Chilcoat brings over 40 plus years of international supply chain background and experience to his position at FAK Distribution. Mr. Chilcoat recently served the last 5 plus years as a management member of a major global transportation provider, tasked with developing and growing global accounts worldwide.

Prior to this, Mr. Chilcoat was based in Shanghai, China, where he held an executive­ level management position as Director of Corporate Logistics for Asia Pacific. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the logistics flow of 14 manufacturing plants throughout China and over 200 suppliers in Asia shipping to the Americas, EMEA. Latin America and intra-Asia.

Throughout his career, Mr. Chilcoat has developed extensive experience in global trade and management, including 3PL logistics flows from Asia to the U.S. and Europe with emphasis Asian Tier I and Tier II suppliers and manufacturing plants.

Mr. Chilcoat’ current position will involve applying his wealth of knowledge while working with global companies to fulfill their transportation and supply chain needs.

Melody Dickinson Director, International Services

Melody directs both international air and ocean services. She has a strong compliance background, which is critical to operating in today's strict shipping environment. Melody's department is available to the client 24-7, and she works with a number of high profile clients that require creative solutions in shipping and logistics. Her largest clients include retail, industrial, and electronics companies that are looking for quick turnaround at competitive rates. Melody focuses on finding ways to meet the client's needs with new international products that can save the client freight dollars through routing strategies.

Lalonie Sanders Manager, Bay Area Operations

Lalonie began her career at Aero Logistics more than 15 years ago. Her area of expertise is domestic and NAFTA services, including white glove, high touch, and expedited services. She has worked in the Bay Area, largely focused on Silicon Valley clients during that entire time. Lalonie's team stresses round-the-clock customer service. She understands the importance of the month-end and quarter-end sale, and what it takes to ensure that client objectives are met. She also is heavily involved in tradeshows, and navigating the deliveries and mechanics of getting these time-critical shipments delivered and recovered as needed.

Jay G. Bruner Director, North American Transportation

Jay has over twenty years of experience in transportation management with some of the largest logistics firms across the country. He is responsible for our Domestic Operations in North America which includes, Truckload, Intermodal and LTL offerings. He is relationship driven with clients and vendors and specializes in cost-effective strategies to assist shippers and carriers in moving their ground freight quickly and efficiently from door-to-door. His division focuses upon service excellence above all else, ensuring that dispatch runs smoothly and any special requests are met.

Valerie Mesch Vice President, Global Operations & Sales

Valerie is a Colorado native with two decades worth of experience providing reliable and cost-considerate logistics solutions tailored to her customer's individual needs. She takes great pride in her ability to partner with clients on their most difficult projects, helping them craft a strategy for success, and quarterbacking the execution. Valerie's specialties include international air and ocean, domestic, express, and operations. She honed these skills working for many of the world's biggest names in logistics, partnering with companies spanning from Fortune 100s to small specialized manufactures and retailers. Valerie looks forwarding to applying her knowledge to help FAK’s clients achieve new levels of efficiency and success in their logistics operations.
